The website

This website and cookies

Skytale.no uses Cookiebot to manage your cookie choices. You can accept or decline statistics and marketing, and change your choice through ‘Cookie settings’ at the bottom of the page.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics for visitor statistics and to measure actions such as contact clicks and download choices. Marketing tools from Google, LinkedIn and HubSpot load only after you consent to marketing. Google Tag Manager controls parts of this setup. We do not send names, email addresses or contact form message text as analytics events.

Fonts and images on the website are served from our own server. One article contains a Vimeo video that loads only when you press play. This establishes a connection to Vimeo.

The website provides links to contact Skytale by email or phone. Information you send by email is processed in the email system. The website does not store enquiries in a separate database. Do not send sensitive information.

When you consent to statistics, we may remember the campaign source while you use this browser tab. Advertising click IDs are remembered only if you also consent to marketing.

See also the providers' information: Cookiebot, Google, LinkedIn, HubSpot and Vimeo. These providers process information about website use according to your choices. The website setup is separate from the Skytale app's communication platform.

Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Skytale AS collects and uses personal data. Personal data is information that can be linked to you as an individual. All processing of personal data complies with Norwegian law, including the Personal Data Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This privacy policy applies to all visitors to our website and social media pages, people who use our app and register as users of the service, contacts at business customers, suppliers and partners, and individuals who contact us for various reasons, including job applicants and employees.

Below you will find information about the personal data we process, the purposes and legal bases for processing, how we ensure that data is processed safely and responsibly, and your rights in relation to our processing of your data.

The controller of the personal data is Skytale AS, represented by its CEO. Contact details for enquiries about the personal data we process are provided in section 8 below.

1. The personal data we process and the legal basis

When your administrator registers you as a new Skytale user, your first name, surname, phone number, email address and temporary password are recorded in our database. You will be asked to change your password when you first sign in. We also store the multi-factor authentication configuration associated with your account. This is stored in encrypted and protected form. Users must ensure that they do not share it with others. We use this information to manage your account access and use of the service, and to communicate with you about your account. The processing is necessary to perform the licence agreement we have entered into with your employer or client.

We also use your registered email address to send newsletters, recommendations or other marketing, provided that you have consented or are a contact for an ongoing customer relationship and the communication otherwise complies with applicable rules. The processing is based on your licence agreement with us or your consent. You may withdraw your consent or opt out of future communications at any time, either as described in the communication or by signing in to your account.

To respond to certain enquiries, such as support requests, we may need to record your name, email address and any other personal data included in the enquiry. The processing is based on the consent you give by sending us your enquiry and our legitimate interest in processing the data to help you with your request.

Personal data relating to payments, such as card details, is handled by our payment service provider in accordance with the payer's agreements with the payment card or account issuer.

For information about cookies and website analytics, see ‘This website and cookies’ above. Your website choices do not change your account settings in the Skytale app.

To manage recruitment enquiries, we record your name, contact details, CV, application, certificates, references and other information you submit. The processing is based on the consent you give when applying and our legitimate interest in managing recruitment. The information will be deleted when the position has been filled, unless we have obtained your consent to retain it.

We also have pages on LinkedIn, Finn.no and Teamtailor, where we publish and share content, job advertisements, news, activities and similar information. We collect communications, content and other information you provide directly on our LinkedIn pages, for example when you post there or send us a private message through the platform. We are the controller for this information. LinkedIn, as the platform owner, also records how you use these pages through cookies and similar technology whenever you visit them. Among other things, this enables LinkedIn to provide us with usage analyses known as Page Insights, containing statistics based on anonymised information about visitors to our profile pages. This allows us to improve our pages and adapt them to visitors' interests and habits. If you have a profile, we can see what you post, including your username and other profile information, as well as content you publish publicly. The platforms also use your data for their own purposes. Further details can be found in their respective privacy policies.

2. Disclosure to others

We will not disclose your personal data to others unless there is a lawful basis for doing so or the disclosure is described in this privacy policy. We do not have access to the content of conversations or communication metadata, as this is an end-to-end encrypted communication solution. Such information will not be shared with us or anyone other than the sender and recipient.

We use processors to store or otherwise process personal data on our behalf. Examples include our cloud hosting provider and payment service providers. In these cases, we have agreements in place to safeguard information security throughout the processing and ensure compliance with applicable rules. Our processors may not process your personal data in ways other than those agreed with us and described in this privacy policy.

3. Storage location

This section concerns data in the Skytale service. For the website's optional analytics and marketing tools, see the provider information under ‘This website and cookies’.

We and our processors store personal data on servers in Norway. We do not store personal data in countries outside the EU/EEA. Should personal data be transferred outside the EEA, we will ensure that the transfer has a lawful basis and complies with applicable data protection rules and guidance.

4. Retention and deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in section 1 or to meet statutory obligations, such as those under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.

Contact details and other personal data will, as far as possible, be kept accurate and up to date and deleted when no longer relevant.

Personal data processed on the basis of your consent will be deleted when that consent expires or is withdrawn, unless legal requirements or another basis for processing require us to retain the data for a period of time.

The retention of anonymised information is not subject to the time limits or deletion requirements above.

5. Protection and information security

Protecting your personal data is a high priority for us, and we work continuously to protect personal data and other confidential information. Our security work includes physical, technical and administrative measures.

Access to your personal data is limited to employees and contracted consultants who need it for their work. Where relevant, we provide training for employees and third parties to raise awareness of our privacy policies and procedures.

Our security work also involves regularly reviewing factors such as risk exposure, available technology, business needs and legal requirements. This is intended to ensure that we maintain adequate security measures, including measures to prevent personal data from being compromised.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding the personal data we process about you:

Access: You can ask what personal data we have recorded about you. You can also find most of this information by signing in to the app and opening Settings.

Rectification: You have the right to have inaccurate, incomplete or irrelevant information about you corrected. Some information can be changed in Settings in the app.

Information about personal data breaches: If a personal data breach poses a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we are required to notify you.

To exercise your rights, contact us as described in section 8 below. We will respond as soon as possible.

If you believe that our processing does not comply with this privacy policy or otherwise breaches data protection law, you have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. For contact details and information about complaints, see www.datatilsynet.no.
