Why we built Skytale
Data has value, including the data on your phone. We built a platform that lets Norwegian organisations retain control themselves.
All data has value, including the data on your phone. Our starting point was simple. Every day, Norwegian organisations communicate about things they would not publish openly, using systems where they neither control access nor know which jurisdiction the content falls under.
That is why we built a Norwegian platform for chat, voice, video, location sharing and file sharing, with end-to-end encryption. No data is stored outside Norway, and data is processed under Norwegian law.
The other issue we wanted to address was identity. Most security breaches do not break encryption; they exploit identity. In Skytale, users are created by the organisation itself. There is no self-registration with a phone number, and access can be closed when a matter is concluded.
The product is developed by Norwegian developers and subcontractors. That is not an end in itself, but it allows us to answer precisely where the code comes from and who has worked on it.
